When viewing a portfolio remember web designers create FOR the client, based on the criteria/requests made by the client. I have some preferences across my designs, but again, my own preferences are often set aside to meet the aesthetic desires of the individual/business.
Disclaimer: Once I turn over a site design, unless I am the site manager, there are changes made by the client which affect the look and feel of the site. Of course, this is how it should be – a natural progression – but the site may not necessarily look or function the same as it did when I initially released it.
